TRS President stakes his claim to form govt in Telangana

Telangana Rastra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao called on Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan in Hyderabad this morning. He also led a group of party MLAs-elect to the Governor and presented copy of the resolution that the TRS legislature party adopted yesterday electing KCR as its leader. With this, Mr Rao formally staked his claim to form the government in Telangana state to be officially come into being from June 2nd.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has ordered re-polling tomorrow in a polling station under the Kalwakurthy Assembly constituency in Telangana region. The re-polling was necessitated following district collector’s report that the EVM of the polling station got struck and the votes polled could not counted. The Kulwakurthy election result is yet to be declared as the Congress candidate is leading by a slender margin of 157 votes when the EVM could not be opened.
