In Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Rastra Samithi today bagged the Banswada Assembly constituency in the by-election. TRS candidate P Srinivasa Reddy won the seat by a margin of 49,889 votes over his nearest Congress rival Srinivas Goud.

In Bihar bye polls, the Janata dal (United) has retained the Daraunda assembly seat. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the JD (U) candidate Kavita Kumari defeated her nearest rival Parmeshwar of RJD by a margin of 20092 votes.

JD(U)'s Kavita Kumari got 51 thousand 754 votes while RJD candidate Parmeshwar Singh got thirty one thousand 662 votes.

In Maharashtra, the ruling Nationalist Congress party, NCP candidate Ms. Harshada Wanjale was defeated by BJP candidate Mr. Bhimrao Tapkir by over 3500 votes in Khadakwasla assembly by-election today.
