Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasekhar Rao has ruled out electoral alliance with Congress for the forthcoming polls to Lok Sabha and state Assembly.

Addressing his party workers at the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad this afternoon, he said Congress has proposed merger of TRS to secure statehood for the region and prevent suicides by hundreds of youth. But, he said, people are now against the merger. Hence, TRS is going by their wish, he said.

He rejected the remarks of AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh, who termed TRS' refusal to merge with the Congress after the creation of Telangana is an act of betrayal. They say KCR had betrayed them but what was the betrayal,” he asked.
