TRS Bandh total and peaceful

In Andhra Pradesh, the 48-hour long Bandh called by Telangana Rastra Samithi – (TRS) demanding statehood for Telangana is total and peaceful so far amidst tight security. The bandh paralyzed normal life in Hyderabad and nine other districts in the region even as the TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao continued his fast on the 8th day today in Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad. Shops, Business entities, Petrol stations and cinema theaters remained closed in the region causing severe inconvenience to the public. The state Road Transport Corporation has suspended 16,000 bus services across the Region while Rail services are unaffected but running behind schedule at several places. Security has been beefed up at all sensitive points and police forces have been deployed in huge numbers at all important places in Hyderabad to prevent any violence during the bandh that began Saturday midnight.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, in a bid to ease the tension in the region, the state Government has decided to move a resolution in the Legislature Assembly stating Hyderabad is not a free zone as far as recruitments are concerned. Assuring the Telangana sympathizers that the Government has filed a review petition over the Supreme Court Judgment, which pronounced Hyderabad would be treated as a Free Zone in Police recruitments, Chief Minister K Rosaiah today said the Government has no intention to make Hyderabad free zone against the aspirations of Telangana People. Telangana supporters were demanding preference in the recruitments in Telengana since long.
