TRS activists further intensified protests across Telangana districts

In Andhra Pradesh, Telengana Rastra Samithi activists have further intensified protests across Telangana districts. Protesting against the indifference of the Centre and State Governments to the demand for separate state and the deteriorating health condition of the party President, K. Chandrasekhara Rao, the TRS activists have called for a 48-hour bandh that came into force since last night. The TRS has also asked the government to move a resolution to form a separate state in the winter session of Assembly that commences tomorrow. Following fresh violence damaging public and private property, Police have clamped prohibitory orders in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Public transport vehicles at several places across the region also have been damaged following rumours about the health condition of Chandrasekhar Rao.

Meanwhile, the Nizam Institute of medical Sciences Director, Dr Prasada Rao, who is heading doctors’ team attending Chandrasekhara Rao, said the health condition of the TRS president is stable.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, K. Rosaiah, reviewed the law and order situation in Hyderabad and other Telangana districts with the Home Minister Sabitha Reddy and the Director General of Police, Girish Kumar. Making an ardent appeal to TRS President to call off his indefinite fast, the Chief Minister has expressed willingness to hold negotiations with the TRS leaders on any issue that was under the purview of the State government. He said separate statehood to Telangana is not in his hands. Stating that the issue was under the active consideration of the UPA government at the Centre he added that intense efforts were under way to evolve a consensus within the UPA and outside.
