Tropical cyclone Phet likely to cause heavy rain across Gujarat

Centered closer to Gujarat more than before, the weakened tropical cyclone 'Phet', can cause heavy rain in Saurasthra and Kutch regions, besides showers in all districts of the state. Indian Meteorological Department said, Phet is centred 800 km west-north west of Naliya in Kutch district of Gujarat against a distance of 950 km a day ago. Our correspondent says the trailing effect of the cyclone can bring rainfall to many districts of the region.<br/> <br/>As the monsoon has hit the North East ahead of its normal schedule, Met Department has predicted heavy rain in the entire region for the next 24 hours. Our correspondent has filed this report: <br/> <br/>In Kerala, after a few days of weak rainfall southwest monsoon is likely to revive by Monday. Monsoon wind is slowly gaining strength and active monsoon is predicted by 10th of this month. <br/> <br/>Light showers in the National Capital Region brought relief to people from the searing heat with maximum temperature declining to 36.6 degrees Celsius yesterday. It is four degrees below the average. The Met department has predicted partly cloudy sky with thundershowers in parts of the city today.<br/>
