Tripura Legislative Assembly: Electioneering in full swing for 60 seats, Political parties conduct door-to-door campaigning

<span style="color: #222222;">Electioneering is in full swing for the 60-seat Tripura Legislative Assembly. Leaders from various political parties are addressing election rallies and are also undertaking door-to-door campaigning for their party candidates.<br />''<br />''Our correspondent reports that Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha undertook a door-to-door campaign at Badharghat in support of BJP candidate Minarani Sarkar. Later, the Chief Minister addressed a public rally at Hrishyamukh in South Tripura district for his party candidate. Addressing the public meeting, Dr. Saha highlighted various developmental activities that were undertaken by the state and central governments. Leader of the Opposition and former CM Manik Sarkar also campaigned in Dhanpur assembly constituency.<br />''<br />'' Dhanpur has been a bastion of Manik Sarkar as he had won from this seat five consecutive times. This time, however, Mr. Sarkar is not contesting the assembly election and instead campaigned for his party candidate Koushik Chanda, who has been fielded from this seat by the CPI-M. Speaking at the rally Manik Sarkar criticized the BJP-led government in Tripura. Former CM and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Deb also addressed an election rally in support of party candidate Pratima Bhoumik who is contesting from Dhanpur assembly seat.  <br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today addressed an election rally at Unakoti in Tripura. Addressing the rally, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to all northeastern states. He said that previously there was a lack of infrastructure in Tripura but under the leadership of PM Modi Tripura witnessed development. Mr. Singh said under the Swachh Bharat mission concrete toilets have been constructed all across the country.<br />''<br />''Defence minister Rajnath Singh said that Tripura witnessed all-round progress in the last 5 years. While addressing the Vijay Sankalp rally at Badharhat today, Mr. Singh said that militancy and terrorism came to an end in the entire North East. <br />''<br />''He said that Narendra Modi has raised the glory of the country in the international arena. He said India's role in COVID management was highly appreciated in the global platform. He alleged that Congress and CPI-M governments did nothing for the welfare of Tripura. Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Tripura also did election rallies across the state today in favor of BJP candidates.<br />''<br />''TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee held a roadshow at Agartala to woo the voters. She promised to develop Tripura in the model of West Bengal if her party wins the election. Veteran Left leader and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and state Congress chief Birjit Sinha campaigned for the party and alliance candidates. Senior leaders from other parties too held rallies and door-to-door campaigns to get the support of the voters of Tripura.</span>
