<span style="color: #222222;">In Tripura, in a landmark decision by the Tripura High Court yesterday, the court has ordered to ban the centuries-old tradition of animals sacrifice in religious places across the state.<br />'' <br />'' The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjoy Karol and Justice Arindam Lodh said that no person including the state shall be allowed to sacrifice of any animal or bird within the precincts of any one of the temples within the state of Tripura. The order has to be implemented with immediate effect.<br />'' <br />'' The court directed the Chief Secretary besides all District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to impose the ban following the Public Interest Litigation filed by former District Judge Subhash Bhattacharjee who raised a concern about animal sacrifice in religious places including Tripura Sundari and Chaturdash Devta temples.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The court also suggested that the Government can earmark land for an opening shelter home for rearing the livestock. The Bench also asked the Chief Secretary to install CCTV cameras in Tripura Sundari and Chaturdash Devta temples and keep a tab on the footage on a monthly basis.</span><br />
