<span style="color: #222222;">Tripura government has sent 240 Mizoram Bru also known as Reang refugees back to their villages till date. Authorities have sent back the refugees under a rehabilitation package sponsored by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) after the current repatriation initiative launched on the 3rd of this month.<br />''<br />''Superintendent of Police, North Tripura, Bhanupada Chakraborty told AIR that 15 members of three Reang refugee families have been sent to their home land Mizoram. Since October 3, a total of 240 members of 68 families have returned. Mr Chakraborty said a team of Mizoram officials are in the State and looking after the repatriation process.<br />''<br />''The MHA's rehabilitation package includes one-time cash support of 1.30 lakh rupees per family and a monthly assistance of 500 rupees to returnee families for two years. Besides, free ration for them for two years was also assured.<br />''<br />''Over 31,000 Reang people also known as Bru community had been displaced from Mizoram at different times since 1997 because of a ethnic strife in Mizoram. They have been settled in six camps in Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura.</span><br />
