Union Minister of State for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan has said, 3,00,000 more LPG connections will be provided to women members from BPL families at free of cost in Tripura. <br/><br/>Inaugurating the Pradhanmantri Ujjwala Yojana in Agartala today, he said, there are total 4,50,000 LPG connections in the state. <br/><br/>He further added that the LPG connection presently exists in 48 houses out of 100 and in the coming two years, this ratio will increase to 90-95. <br/><br/>On the occasion, Mr. Pradhan told media that the Government has no intention to stop subsidy on LPG in the country.<br/><br/>He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is committed towards providing Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and LPG to the people of Tripura and for that new bottling plants worth 700 crore rupees will be set up at Agartala and Dharmanagar. <br/><br/>The Minister said, he has spoken to Bangladesh government to set up a pipeline from Chittagong to Tripura for LPG supply. He said, PNG pipeline has been installed in 30,000 houses in the state and in the next two years, the target is to setup pipelines to provide piped natural gas to 10,000 more houses. <br/><br/>Today, Mr. Pradhan handed over the connections to 20 beneficiaries of BPL families. He also laid a foundation stone for a new grass root bottling plant which will increase the LPG bottling capacity from 21 to 60 thousands metric tonnes per annum (TMTPA). <br/><br/>He said, Modi Government is committed towards taking care of all the seven states of North East Region.
