Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu has said the issue of ending triple talaq practice should not be linked with uniform civil code. He said, triple talaq is being linked to Uniform Civil Code but main issues are gender justice, non-discrimination and dignity of women.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu said some people are confusing the issue of triple talaq with the Code. Calling for an enlightened debate on the Code, the Minister said the real mood of the country is to end triple talaq and some people are trying to create confusion over the two issues. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said, people do not want any discrimination agianst women on basis of any religious faith. The Minister added that the issue is about giving equal rights to women and assured that no decision would be taken in a hurry. <br/><br/>Government's reaction came a day after All India Muslim Personal Law Board and various other Muslim organisations announced that they will boycott Law Commission's process to take views on Uniform Civil Code.
