The Triple Talaq Bill couldn't be passed in the Winter Session of Parliament despite government pushing it hard. <br/><br/>The deadlock between the government and the united opposition over penal provisions cast the shadow over its passage in the Rajya Sabha. <br/><br/>The Congress-led opposition was pressing for referring the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights in Marriage) Bill to Select Committee while the government was in favour of its immediate passage to give relief to the affected Muslim women.<br/><br/>Though the legislation was listed in the Rajya Sabha's agenda for the last three days, it couldn't be taken up because of continued stalemate. <br/><br/>The Bill has already sailed through the Lok Sabha as the ruling NDA government has a comfortable majority unlike the Rajya Sabha.
