Tripartite MoU sign to promote Ice Hockey in Ladakh

Ahead of the Ice Hockey season in Ladakh, a tripartite MoU was signed between the UT Sports department, Leh Hill Council, and Eicher Group Foundation to promote the sport in the region.<br />''<br />''Participating virtually in the MoU signing programme, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur appealed to the Eicher Group Foundation for technical advice and assistance in developing Ice Hockey infrastructure in Ladakh. He also requested the foundation to groom talented Ice Hockey players. He said that the new partnership will strengthen the infrastructure and entire Ice Hockey ecosystem in a sustainable manner. He listed out various initiatives to provide year-long Ice Hockey rink facility at district level and provision of rinks at the village level during the winters.<br />''<br />''Leh Hill Council Chairman, CEC Tashi Gyalson said that the MoU will enable the players to bring laurels to the region and the country at the international level. He said the MoU would provide better coaching and exposure tours to the players.<br />''Eicher Group Foundation has been involved in various corporate social responsibility activities including skill development, livelihood, community development programmes, sports and preservation of the fragile Ladakh environment. As per the MoU, the Foundation provides various training and suitable equipment for Ladakh Ice Hockey Players.<br />''<br />''Ladakh Youth Services and Sports Secretary, Ravinder Kumar, Leh Hill Council Sports Executive Councilor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee , Eicher Group Foundation Executive Director Ms Bidisha Dey, senior officials and the representatives from Ladakh Winter Sports Club were present during the MoU signing.<br />''<br />
