A tripartite concession agreement was signed between National Mission for clean Ganga, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and Essel Infra projects limited for construction of Sewage Treatment Plants at Varanasi and Haridwar. <br/><br/>The agreements were signed in the presence of Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi today. <br/><br/>The plants will be constructed under Hybrid Annuity Model to boost Namami Gange programme. Water Resources Ministry said, the signing of agreement is a major step toward realizing the dream of Nirmal Ganga. <br/><br/>It is the first time that hybrid annuity based public private partnership mode is adopted in sewerage sector. The Ministry said, under this model, the development, operation and maintenance of the sewage treatment will be undertaken by a Special Purpose Vehicle.
