In the Kolkata South Parliamentary byelection, Subrato Bakshi of Trinamool Congress has established a winning lead of over 2 lakh 28 thousand votes over his nearest rival Ritabrata Banerjee of CPI(M). The seat fell vacant following resignation of Ms. Mamta Banerjee from the Lok Sabha after getting elected in the State Assembly.
