Trinamool Congress opposes Centre’s FDI policy

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has criticized the UPA government's policy on allowing Foreign Direct Investment in the retail sector. Addressing a rally in New Delhi today, she said that her party will continue to oppose the hike in diesel prices and cap on subsidized cooking gas cylinders. On FDI, she said her party will support any opposition resolution against it in Parliament as it will adversely affect the interest of farmers.

Janata Dal (United) Chief, Sharad Yadav, who also addressed the rally, supported her move to oppose FDI in the retail sector.
