Tributes paid to martyrs on 9th anniversary of 26/11 attacks

In Mumbai, rich tributes were paid on Sunday to those who laid down their lives fighting terrorists during the 26/11 attacks. Various events were organised in the city in the memory of the martyrs of the attacks. <br/><br/>On the ninth anniversary of the terror attacks, Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, MoS for Home Hansraj Ahir, Union minister Kiren Rijiju, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other state ministers paid homage to the bravehearts. <br/><br/>Mr Ahir and other senior Army officers handed over the 26/11 Memorial Award to the parents of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who laid his life on this fateful day.<br/> <br/>In 2008, the 26/11 attacks lasted three days, killing 166 people including 18 police officers and two NSG commandos and injuring over 300. The Mumbai Police organised a 'Salutation Ceremony' at the martyrs' memorial at the Marine Lines.<br/>
