The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has issued notice to Madhya Pradesh government on a death of a tribal due to silicos in Panna district. A press release said, the commission took cognizance of the incident on a complaint by an NGO. The commission has directed that the district authorities should give a detailed report into the alleged incident.

It has also asked the Chief Secretary of the State to furnish details about the measures taken to prevent silicosis in the area and the rehabilitation package given to the victims of silicosis.
