Tri nation Cricket: New Zealand win toss, to bat first against India

In the in the opening match of Tri nation Cricket series, New Zealand were11 for none against India at Dambulla, Srilanka when reports last came in. Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Srilanka is the third country in the series. India is playing today without Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh as both of them have been rested. Opener Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma are also not playing due to injury. Ashish Nehra has taken over the responsibility of leading the attack. On the batting front, the series is a chance for Yuvraj Singh to prove himself.Virender Sehwag will once again shoulder the responsibility of providing a good start to India with Dinesh Karthik. The New Zealanders, on the other hand, are in their familiar dark-horses role. Skipper Daniel Vettori, Jesse Ryder and Brendon McCullum are not playing today. All India Radio will broadcast running commentary of the matches. The commentary will be available on Rajdhani channel and FM Gold from 1400 hrs to 2130 hrs or till the end of the match.
