Trends & results from state by-polls in: First win goes to YSR Cong in AP

Trends and results for Bye Polls from most of the states have come in. In Andhra Pradesh the first result has gone in favour of YSR Congress.

Its candidate Chennakesava Reddy has won the Yemmiganor Assembly constituency. He defeated his nearest TDP rival Mohan Reddy by over 20,000 votes.

The party is also leading the Nellore Lok Sabha and 14 other assembly seats. Congress candidates are in lead in two constituencies, while TRS candidate has established lead in Parakal constituency.

In Kerala, R. Selvaraj of the Congress-led ruling United Democratic Front has won the Neyyatinkara by-elections. He defeated his nearest rival F. Lawrence of the CPI(M) by a margin of 6,334 votes.

In Tripura, CPIM candidate has won the Nalcher assembly seat by a margin of 4,777 votes. He defeated his nearest Congress rival.

In West Bengal, ruling Trinamool Congress is leading in both assembly seats where bye poll was held. 15 rounds of counting have been completed. The two seats fell vacant following death of two Trinamool Congress legislators.

In Tamil Nadu, ruling AIADMK candidate Karthik Thondaiman is leading by about 12,000 votes in Pudukottai assembly constituency over his nearest rival of DMDK candidate. Four rounds of counting have been completed.
