Trends indicate worst defeat for Congress in Maha, Haryana Assembly elections; BJP marching ahead

Early trends of counting in Maharashtra and Haryana indicate that BJP is marching ahead while Congress is facing its worst ever defeat in the two states.

In Maharashtra, BJP is leading in 103 constituencies trends of which are available so far. Congress is leading only in 45 constituencies. Shiv Sena is ahead in 53 seats while NCP in 41.

In Haryana, trends in all the 90 constituencies have come in. BJP is leading in 48 followed by INLD in 20. Congress is way behind as its candidates are leading in 17 constituencies only.

Both the states were ruled by Congress after the 2009 elections.
