Housing and Urban Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said, transparency and accountability are the key to good governance. He was addressing the 163rd Central Public Works Department (CPWD) day function in New Delhi today.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu said, CPWD has been serving the country by creating environment friendly sustainable public works projects. He said, with increased competition, CPWD must gear itself to improve efficiency in the delivery of service and better targeting of customers. The Minister also asked it to avoid delays and improve work culture. He said, CPWD should work with the mantra of Scale, Speed and Skill.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu asked officials to construct buildings friendly for differently abled persons. He also said, tendering and other related works must be done electronically. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Housing and Urban Affairs Durga Shankar Mishra said, the Government is focusing on efficiency, timing and quality. He said, it is the time for innovations and CPWD should focus on technology and new processes to become competitive.
