<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre today said any member of transgender community registered on National Portal for Transgender Persons is entitled to avail healthcare benefits in any Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana ( AM-PMJAY) empanelled hospital. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar said National Health Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to extend AB-PMJAY benefits to the transgender community. She said this is under the Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise framework launched by the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry. The Minister said apart from Health Benefit Packages defined for AB-PMJAY. These beneficiaries are entitled to additional fifty Health Benefits Packages related to Sex Reassignment Surgery.</span><br />
