Madhya Pradesh, the death toll has gone up to 15 in Badarwas train accident. More than 25 people have been seriously injured in the incident. A goods train had collided head on with the stationary Indore-Gwalior Intercity at Badarwas station about 60 kms from Shivpuri district quarters early Monday morning. Two coaches of the train were badly damaged while another coach was also affected. Fifteen bodies have been recovered so far. Injured have been admitted in Shivpuri and Guna district hospitals. Death toll is likely to increase as the rescue operation is still on. An army helicopter is also being used in rescue and relief operations. A railway enquiry has been ordered into the incident. Union Minister and MP from Guna-Shivpuri parliamentary area Jyotiraditya Scindia visited Shivpuri district hospital and inquired about the victims. State governor Rameshwar Thakur and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have expressed grief over the incident. Two trains have been cancelled on this route due to accident. Union Rail minister Mamta Banerjee has announced an ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees each to the relatives of the deceased and one lakh each to seriously injure.
