Train services remain disrupted following fire in 12 diesel tanks

In Assam, train services continue to remain disrupted in Upper Assam since last night following fire in 12 tanks in a diesel carrying train in between Bhilgaon and Borpathar in Golaghat district. The train was proceeding to Uttar Pradesh from Numaligarh Refinery when it catches fire at around nine last night. Ten diesel-loaded tanks were also derailed. Fire is already extinguished this morning.<br/>The Chief PRO of the North East Frontier Railway Mr. S.Hajong told AIR Guwahati Correspondent that sabotage by suspected militants cannot be denied. He said some fuse wires and explosive materials have been recovered from the site of the accident. He also said about three hundred metres of the track has been damaged due to suspected explosion. Security agencies are investigating to get clues of the accident. The repairing work of the damaged track has been taken up on war footing. Mr. Hajong hoped that train services to Upper Assam could be restored by early tomorrow morning. <br/><br/>
