Train services partially restored on Delhi -Howrah route

Rail traffic on the busiest New Delhi Howrah route has been restored with one of the tracks becoming operational. Movement of trains on this route was badly affected due to derailment of 26 coaches of Kanpur bound goods train between Bhabhua and Durgawati railway stations on Thursday night under Mughalsarai division of East Central Railway. Delhi bound Rajdhani express train was the first to pass through the restored track late last night. Quoting railway sources our Allahabad correspondent reports that four trains including Varanasi Rajgir Buddha Purnima express, Gaya bound Mahabodhi express, Howrah bound Toofan express and Varanasi Ranchi express will remain cancelled today. Besides 17 trains including Ranchi, Sialdah, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar bound Rajdhani express trains, Purushottam express, Puri Express, kalka Express and Delhi Howrah Duranto express will be running on diverted routes. About half a dozen trains will not touch Allahabad station due to diversion of their routes.

The railways have set up help lines at Mughalsarai, Gaya, Lucknow, Kanpur and New Delhi railway stations. Help line number at Mughalsarai is 0541 2254145 and Gaya number is 0631 2223320. Allahabad help line number is 0532- 2407352 and Kanpur is 0512- 2323015, 16 and 18.
