Train services on Konkan route resume

In a relief to thousands of commuters, the badly-mangled tracks of the Konkan Railway between Ratnagiri and Adavali stations have been restored as a result of round-the-clock work of around 500 labourers for the last 10 days. The train services on the Konkan route resumed on Wednesday with the Mumbai-Madgaon Mandvi Express leaving Ratnagiri station this morning The services were affected due to heavy rains in the Konkan region which resulted in landslides, soil slippage and accumulation of muck and water on the tracks. Konkan Railway in a press release said that it has spent 3.5 crore rupees for the restoration of the track.
