Train services disrupted in Kerala due to land slip

In Kerala, four passengers of the Mangalore bound Thiruvananthapuram Express suffered minor injuries in a land slip between Piravom Road and Mulanthuruthy Railway Stations in Ernakulam district during the wee hours of this morning. Three coaches of the train are still trapped in the earth that fell on the train and efforts are on to clear the tracks. Train services on the railway line between Ernakulam and Kottayam have been disrupted following the incident. Railway sources said the Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram Vanchinad Express, Mumbai-Kanyakumari Express and Chennai-Thiruvanthapuram Mail have been diverted via Alappuzha following the incident. The Thiruvanthapuram-Shornur Venad Express and the Kollam-Ernakulam passenger will be terminated at Kottayam. The Ernakulam – Kottayam passenger has been cancelled.
