In West Bengal, train services have been severely affected due to power failure in the Eastern Grid. Number of long distance and local trains have stranded at different stations. Large number of areas in the city of Kolkata are reeling under without electricity. AIR correspondent reports that however, metro rail services have remained normal in the city. The state power Minister Mr. Manish Gupta told that efforts are on to bring normalcy at different power generating stations in the state. The government is trying its level best to maintain emergency services.
