Railways Minister Sadananda Gowda has said a pilot project for Introduction of Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) has been launched on some trains to get the feedback of passengers on food quality.
He said a Centralised Catering Services Monitoring Cell has been setup at National level. The toll free number of the cell is 1800-111-321.
Third party audit of catering services are also to be conducted at periodic intervals.
The Minister said over 7000 complaints have been attended by the Railways from 2011 till June, this year.
The Minister was replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, today, on the establishment of any mechanism to monitor food quality and hygiene in running trains and at railway stations.
