Train derailment leaves 19 injured in Haryana

In Haryana, at least 19 passengers were injured when eight coaches of the Delhi-bound Firozpur-Mumbai Punjab Mail derailed near Kharawar village, about 14 km from Rohtak in the wee hours today. Alok Mittal, the IGP of the Rohtak Range, informed the incident took place around 3:30 AM.The derailed coaches include sleeper coaches from S-5 to S-10, apart from the guard-cum-luggage van. The injured have been admitted to the PGIMS hospital in Rohtak. Mr. Mittal said that the all officers have reached the spot and rescue and relief operations are on. He said, the 16 remaining bogies of the train have been flagged of to Delhi. Some of the passengers have been sent to Delhi by buses. Railway authorities have started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident. They said, around 300-metre of railway track has been damaged.
