Good news for people in Ghaziabad, as the Delhi Metro Rail today began trial runs on the Yamuna Bank-Anand Vihar section. Metro plans to open the 6.17 km-stretch to public by the end of this month. The succesful trial run this morning extended from Lakshmi Nagar station up to Preet Vihar station. DMRC officials said the trains will run up to Preet Vihar for some days before the trial runs are extended till the Anand Vihar station. The section, once opened, is expected to draw huge crowds given the number of people who depend on private mode<br/>of transport to reach the national capital from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
