Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI, has released a consultation paper on fixing tariff for cable television services in the areas, which are not under conditional access system at present. The consultation paper has covered issues like wholesale tariff of channels from broadcasters to multi-system operators, retail tariff for cable TV services from cable operators to consumers and others. According to a TRAI release said the paper has been prepared on the basis of preliminary inputs on financial and operational information given by the stakeholders. The authority has invited all stakeholders to respond to the issues raised in the paper by 25th April.
