Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI has extended till July 10, the deadline for submitting the consumer application forms to multi-system operators, MSOs, and cable operators.
Earlier, TRAI had said, consumers need to submit these forms, indicating their choice of channels, by 25th June, failing which MSOs were asked to switch off television signals of such subscribers.
TRAI, in a statement, said that this is the last and final extension. The decision came after MSO representatives met the broadcast regulator to review the progress of the entry of consumer details in the subscriber management system.
The regulator said, extension has been granted to minimise consumer inconvenience that will be caused if MSOs disconnect set-top boxes immediately.
