Traffic on Mumbai – Goa Highway partially restored

Traffic on the Mumbai – Goa Highway has been partially restored. One way vehicular traffic from Konkan to Mumbai was opened this evening while efforts are still on to clear the debris on the other lane.It has been three days since the highway has been closed due to two landslides that occurred at the Kashedi Ghat on Sunday because of incessant rains.A third landslide occurred today morning, causing more disruptions and delay in clearing the debris.Currently, all small vehicles are being allowed to ply while the route is still closed for buses and other heavy vehicles. Meanwhile, Deputy Collector of Raigad’s Dapoli region, Mangesh Joshi today also held a review meeting with the civic officials, asking them to clear the route as soon as possible.
