Union Minister for Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal said on Saturday, the traditional medical system of Unani will continue to serve mankind in the world. Speaking at the inauguration function of Unani Day 2023 and International Conference at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, Mr Sonowal said, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ayush has been able to mark its presence at the global level. He said that due to the continued support of the Prime Minister the Market share of India's Ayush Sectors has reached over 20 billion dollars.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister added that unfortunately under the Congress government, the worth of Ayush was only six billion dollars. Talking about the Budgetary support he said, the Ministry has received six times more allocation as compared to 2013-14. Mr Sonowal added that this Budgetary support will help in the further expansion of Ayush in the field of research and development.<br />'' <br />'' Speaking at the event Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Ministry of Ayush had played a significant role during the COVID pandemic. He mentioned that the role of traditional medicine has increased in the last few years and the Government is taking all efforts to provide affordable healthcare to the people. He noted that in addition to research and development India has achieved significant strides in the Ayush sector since 2014.<br />'' <br />''The two-day Conference under the theme of "Unani Medicine for Public Health" will deliberate on the importance and significant role of traditional medicine in combating emerging health challenges in the future. The programme has been organised by the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine.
