The call for Bandh against FDI in retail sector evoked mixed response across the country today. Shops and business establishments were closed in many places but the response was partial in other places including opposition-ruled Gujarat and Bihar and Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Assam. Mumbai and in West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh downed their shutters. Shops and business establishments in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Odisha by and large remained shut. Shop keepers in some cities took out marches demanding a rollback.
