Trade unions demand Govt. to control price rise

The trade unions today demanded the Government to control the price rise situation. Talking to reporters after pre budget discussions with the Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee, Left Trade Union leader Mr Gurdas Dasgupta said that they urged the Government to stop commodity trading in view of the rising prices. <br/><br/>They also demanded immediate restrictions on export of food grains. Criticizing the government’s economic policies for being responsible for the price rise, Mr Dasgupta said an agitation would be launched if the food inflation is not controlled. He said they also opposed disinvestments initiatives of the government.
