Introducing the Bill, Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said, so far, there is no legal framework to recognise the trade unions and this legislation will address the issue.<br />''<br />''N K Premchandran of the RSP, A Sampath of CPI (M) and Shashi Tharoor of the Congress, opposed its introduction.<br />''<br />''Mr Sampath termed the bill as unconstitutional saying that when trade unions are on strike, the government has brought the bill to hit their interest.
