Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora has said that tourism is playing a pivotal role for socio-economic development of the people and a massive development plan has been initiated to promote the tourism activities in the State. <br/><br/>Addressing public gathering today at Harki Pori, Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu, after inaugurating view decks, the Minister said that tourism in Jammu is second to none source to bone the economy of Jammu people. He added that huge development programme has been initiated to give a modern facelift to tourist destination, besides, creating recreational facilities for the visiting tourists in the region. <br/><br/>Giving details of the initiatives the Minister said that a Tourist Reception Centre with modern facilities at Railway Station Jammu would be constructed at the cost of 10 Crore rupees and added that restoration and conservation works of Dogra heritage, Mubarak Mandi Complex and Bahu Fort have already been taken up at the cost of over 300 Crores. Mr. Jora said that the State Government is very serious to explore the tourism potential of the State fully throughout the Country and abroad.
