Tourism Ministry has been working on a two-pronged strategy for marketing of brand 'Incredible India' in the established markets as well as in emerging markets.<br/><br/>Informing this in the Lok Sabha, Tourism Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma said this is aimed to position India globally as the most favoured destination. He said his ministry is providing financial assistance to the small and medium level of travel agents, tour operators and hoteliers. Dr Sharma said foreign exchange earnings through tourism was one lakh twenty three thousand three hundred twenty crore rupees in 2014.<br/><br/>Replying to supplementaries, Dr Sharma said his ministry is giving assistance to central agencies for tourism infrastructure development. The minister said financial assistance is provided under computerization and information technology scheme to state governments to upgrade their tourism related facilities.<br/><br/>The minister said Swadesh Darshan integrated development of theme based tourist circuits was launched for development of theme- based tourist circuits in a holistic manner. Dr Sharma informed that National Mission on pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive has been launched. Through this scheme, twelve cities including Puri, Gaya, Dwarka and Amravati have been identified for infrastructure development.
