With an aim to ensure safety of women and children, the Government has launched an initiative 'Safe and Honourable Tourism 'for evolving a code of conduct for tourism service providers. It was launched in a meeting chaired by Tourism Secretary, Mr. Sujit Banerjee in New Delhi today. The Tourism Ministry will work with the National Commission for Women to draw up an action plan so as to have the code of conduct in place within six months. Under the programme , the Ministry has also undertaken steps for protection of culture, values and heritage to ensure long term sustainable and responsible tourism in the country.<br/><br/> <br/>
