After the centre permission to open more tourists spots in restricted areas of Ladakh from this year, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh has started to streamline the promising tourism industry to meet the market need. Apart from refresher courses for in service tourist guide, tour operators and hospitality sectors , LAHDC is also focusing to improve road connectivity to the monasteries and other tourists spots.<br/><br/>Chief Executive Councilor of LAHDC, Leh Tsering Dorjey told AIR Leh correspondent that LAHDC has also started to explore more trekking routes while improving the old one. Ladakh is known as the Land of Gonpa or monastery was opened for tourist in 1974.<br/><br/>Over the years it has become one of the most sorted tourist spot in Indian Himalaya. A record of inflow of over seventy nine thousand tourists which included both foreign and home tourists has visited in 2009. <br/><br/>To attract more and more tourists in the region, LAHDC is also organizing Sindhu Darshan festival for three -day in the beginning of tourism season and Ladakh Festival for 15 day in September to extend the season.<br/>
