Total of 32 crore 17 lakh accounts open PMJDY by July 2018

<span style="color: #222222;">A total of 32 crore 17 lakh accounts have been opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) with a total deposit of over 80 thousand crore rupees by the end of July 2018. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Of the total, around 19 crore accounts were in rural/semi-urban centres. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As many as 17 crore accounts have been opened by women beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This information was given in a written reply in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">         </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said the willing and eligible Jan-Dhan Yojana account holders can subscribe to micro-insurance under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The scheme is available to people in the age group of 18-50 and provides for a life cover of two lakh rupees for one year at an annual premium of 330 rupees.</span><br />'' <br />
