Total of 168.96 Giga Watt renewable energy capacity installed in country as on Feb 28

<span style="color: #222222;">New and Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh has said that in line with Prime Minister's announcement at COP26, his Ministry is working towards achieving 500 Giga Watt of installed electricity capacity from non-fossil sources by 2030. <br />''<br />''In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Mr Singh said, as on 28th February this year, a total of 168.96 Giga Watt renewable energy capacity has been installed in the country. He said, it includes 64.38 Giga Watt Solar Power, 51.79 Giga Watt Hydro Power, 42.02 Giga Watt Wind Power and 10.77 Giga Watt Bio Power. The Minister said, in addition, 82.62 Giga Watt of capacity is under implementation and 40.89 Giga Watt of capacity is under tendering. He informed that a total of 316754.86 Million Units of electricity has been generated from renewable energy sources during the current financial year upto January 2023.</span><br />
