In Arunachal Pradesh, several pockets of the state are battling severe flooding due to torrential rains in the last one week. Situation is reported to be grim in Anjaw, Lohit, Changlang, Dibang Valley districts and Tuting Sub-division in Upper Siang while Siang River in Pasighat is flowing above danger mark. Meanwhile, India Meteorological Department has predicted more rainfall in next 48 hours.100 people were rescued yesterday from Bijoypur 1, under Bordumsa circle by local administration using country boats. They were later shifted to relief camp. ADC Kento Riba informed that Army boats will be pressed into service on Tuesday morning at Bijoypur III where 55 families are still stranded. The flood situation at Diyun Circle is also at critical stage. Noa Dehing River is flowing above danger level at Maitripur, Gautampur, Santipur, Jyotipur, Dumpani and Mudoi village. At Namsai and Mahadevpur area, Noa-Dehing overflowed embankment at Silatoo, Satgoria and Dharampur. More than 50 houses are under water in the area. Siang River at Pasighat is flowing over the danger mark at various places, particularly at Pasighat. During an emergency meeting of District Disaster Management (DDM) Deputy Commissioner RK Mishra informed that the District Administration is closely monitoring the developments.
