In Tripura, a tornado ripped through parts of the state, killing one person, injuring 200 others and damaging at least one thousand houses yesterday. The impact of the tornado was maximum in Bishalgarh sub-division area of Sipahijala district where more than one thousand houses collapsed and at least 200 people were injured. Officials said, the tornado lasted for about 10 minutes and left a trail of destruction. The injured have been admitted to Bishalgarh hospital and Agartala government Medical College in Agartala. The government has opened three relief camps in Bishalgarh sub-division and security forces and civil defence volunteers have been engaged in rescue works.
