Top US diplomat meets Aung San Suu Kyi

A top US diplomat today met Myanmar's detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi for talks ahead of rare elections in the military-ruled country. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia Kurt Campbell met Ms Suu Kyi at a state guesthouse in Rangoon. <br/><br/>The Nobel laureate was driven to the guesthouse from the lakeside mansion where she has spent most of the last two decades under house arrest to meet Mr. Campbell. Speaking ahead of the visit, Mr. Campbell said he was concerned about the preparations for Myanmar's election.<br/>
