A top Taliban commander, Sher Mohammad Qasab who was captured after being injured seriously in a gun battle with security forces in Pakistan's restive Swat valley, succumbed to his wounds today. The military in a statement said that Qasab was carrying a reward of 10 million rupees on his head and was a close aide of Maulana Fazlullah, the chief of the Taliban in Swat. <br/><br/>Security officials said Qasab was personally responsible for beheading security personnel and setting on fire girls' schools in Swat. Qasab was the third high-profile Taliban commander to be arrested in Swat after militant spokesman Muslim Khan and commander Mahmood Khan.
