Top officials of the Chinese Telecom firm ZTE, today met the Home Secretary Mr. G.K.Pillai with regard to the security clearance of the company's products. According to an official spokesman the Home Secretary sought some clarifications and additional information. He said once this is received, the MHA will proceed further on the matter. Objections had been raised by security agencies in allowing the company to supply equipments in the Indian market. ZTE, a Chinese Telecom Equipment manufacturing company has a facory and research centre in Manesar in Gurgaon. It manufacturs CDMA, GSM mobile sets and other telecom components. The Chinese Ambassador to India Mr. Zhang Yan also met the Home Secretary today.
